Synopsis
David Greig’s The Events (2013) is a powerful and thought-provoking drama that delves into the aftermath of an act of extreme violence. At the center of the play is Claire, a priest and community choir leader, who survives a mass shooting and embarks on a deeply personal journey to understand why such atrocities happen. In her search for answers, she confronts the perpetrator, explores the ideological and psychological roots of extremism, and ultimately wrestles with the limits of forgiveness.
